DC Fintech Week

Chris Brummer - Bio

Chris Brummer founded Washington DC’s Fintech Week in 2017, which he credits to a number of regulators and market participants who urged him to create an academically engaging, but action-oriented, ‘safe space’ for discussing policy issues spanning the ecosystem.

His goal, from the start, was to create a free and accessible forum for world class dialogues accessible to anyone interested in learning more about the future of finance.

Chris is also the Faculty Director of Georgetown’s Institute of International Economic Law, and routinely provides analysis for multilateral institutions and regulatory forums.  Among his many roles in the fintech community, he serves as a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Subcommittee on Virtual Currencies, and a member of the Consultative Working Group for the European Securities and Markets Authority’s Financial Innovation Standing Committee.

Chris also hosts the popular podcast Fintech Beat.
